The Griselda Hill Pottery is delighted to introduce these limited edition daffodil cats, painted on a black background. These delightful cats are the result of a collaboration between the Pottery and Marie Curie Cancer Care. They form part of the Great Daffodil Appeal for 2008, and we have agreed to donate £10 from the sale of each of the cats to this very worthy cause.
Cancer is the UK's biggest killer. Each year 155,000 people die of cancer, and Marie Curie Cancer Care is there for some of them, for their families and their community. The charity's aim is to be there for them all. Research shows that 64% of people would choose to die at home if they had a terminal illness, while statistics show that only 25% of cancer patients do so.
Marie Curie Cancer Care cares for half of all those who die at home. Their nurses reach all sections of the community, helping patients and their families at a difficult time.
Marie Curie nurses provide high quality nursing to give terminally ill people choice to die in their own home surrounded by the people and things they love most.
The 7" cats come in three designs, and only one hundred of each design will be painted. Each cat comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by Griselda Hill.
A limited edition of ten 13" cats will also be made with the swirly daffodil design. The first of these cats will be donated to Marie Curie Cancer Care, and from the sale of the remaining nine cats £30 each will be donated to Marie Curie Cancer Care.
