It is thought that Robert Heron, the owner of Wemyss Ware\u003cspan\u003e®\u003c\/span\u003e, was very impressed with the bold yellow cat with hearts and roundels which he saw in one of the Paris Great Exhibitions at the end of the nineteenth century. He bought one and decided to have a similar cat made in the Wemyss\u003cspan\u003e® \u003c\/span\u003eway - similar but subtly different. The Gall\u003cspan\u003eé\u003c\/span\u003e cat is one of our most popular designs.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe Yellow Gallé cat is based on a design by the French potter and furniture maker  Emile Gallé. It now forms part of the logo of Kirkcaldy Galleries, and can be seen gracing the side of the Museum Bus.
