Black and White Bulldog

Wemyss Ware® is Scotland's most famous pottery. Hand finished and hand painted in Ceres, Fife at the Griselda Hill Pottery since 1985. Fife is the birthplace of Wemyss® pottery in 1882. 

Wemyss Ware® is known for their many striking designs and the real animal markings are always a hit with our animal lovers.

Pigs, cats, mice and rabbits can all be decorated in this delightful traditional sponged design, which brings out their individual characters.  

Bulldogs were first made by Wemyss Ware® in the nineteenth century, but the early versions are very rare. Our charming, version would be a delightful addition to any household.

In the early days very few bulldogs were made because they were so breakable, and there is a story that Karel Nekola threw the mould away in disgust after yet another bulldog cracked in the kiln. Our version does not cause so much hassle. By the look on its face it needs a good home.
