Earlshall Collection
The Earlshall design is named after Earlshall Castle in Fife, which had a row of elms with rooks' nests. A strong, stylised design, it sometimes incorporates quotes from popular poems. This pattern was brought out in the early twentieth century. This bold, single colour design was first produced around 1910, and is simpler than many of the earlier patterns. It is quite a modern-looking design.
